Jammu & Kashmir – Union Minister Jitendra Singh filed his nomination from the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat on Monday, expressing confidence in the support of the people of Kathua-Doda-Udhampur constituency for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I don’t think such a huge public rally has ever happened in Kathua,” Singh said, referring to the large gathering that had come out in support. “This is the epitome of support that the people of Kathua-Doda-Udhampur constituency have for PM Narendra Modi and the BJP.”
Singh also highlighted the work done by PM Narendra Modi in the last 10 years in this constituency. “Dozens of new schemes and policies were implemented for the people,” he said. “A lot of work which was left incomplete by the previous governments was also completed.”
The Union Minister’s comments reflect the BJP’s campaign narrative of development and good governance. The party is banking on the popularity of PM Modi and the impact of his policies at the grassroots level to secure a win in the upcoming elections.
The nomination filing was followed by a roadshow where Singh, accompanied by party workers and supporters, showcased the BJP’s strength in the region.
The Udhampur Lok Sabha seat will go to polls in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The results will be a crucial indicator of the political mood in Jammu & Kashmir, a region that has been a focal point of the BJP’s political strategy.
