Top National Leaders Mark 75th Constitution Day at Samvidhan Sadan

India’s top political leadership came together on Tuesday at the Samvidhan Sadan of Parliament to commemorate the 75th Constitution Day, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution. The solemn event saw the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, among several other dignitaries.

The ceremony highlighted India’s democratic journey since the adoption of the Constitution on 26 November 1949. Leaders across political parties participated in the event, reflecting a rare moment of unity at a time of heightened political discourse. The gathering underscored the significance of the Constitution as the guiding force for governance, social justice, and the protection of citizens’ rights.

During the programme, attendees reflected on the work of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the founding members of the Constituent Assembly, who laid the foundations of modern India through their vision and foresight. Special presentations, readings, and discussions were held to emphasise the importance of constitutional morality, democratic responsibility, and national integrity.

Prime Minister Modi and other leaders reiterated the need to uphold constitutional values, strengthen democratic institutions, and ensure inclusive development. The event also served to inspire younger generations to understand the Constitution’s relevance in shaping India’s future.

As India marks 75 years of its Constitution, the ceremony at Samvidhan Sadan stood as a testament to the enduring strength of the nation’s democratic fabric and the collective resolve to protect and promote the ideals embedded in the country’s supreme law.
