Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a recent address, has reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to national security and its vision for a self-reliant India. He expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the Defence Ministry for another term.
“Protection of the country remains our top priority,” Singh stated. “We are committed to building a strong and ‘Aatmanirbhar’ Bharat.”
‘Aatmanirbhar’, a term that signifies self-reliance, is at the heart of the government’s vision. This vision is not limited to economic growth but extends to defence manufacturing as well. Singh highlighted India’s achievements in this sector, with defence equipment exports surpassing Rs 21,000 crore.
But this is just the start. The Defence Minister outlined an ambitious roadmap for the future. “Our aim is to increase this figure to Rs 50,000 crore in the next five years,” he declared, setting a bold target for the expansion of India’s defence industry.
Singh also took a moment to acknowledge the valour and dedication of India’s armed forces. “We take immense pride in our three armed forces, the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force,” he said.
These remarks from the Defence Minister underscore the government’s dedication to bolstering India’s defence capabilities and its resolve to achieve self-reliance in defence manufacturing. As India continues to chart its course in a complex global landscape, the vision of an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ serves as a beacon of hope.
