Maharashtra – In a public rally held in Pune, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress and INDI alliance, accusing them of hatching a deep conspiracy during their tenure.
Modi claimed that the Congress and its allies were responsible for the increase in terrorism in the country due to their policy of appeasement. He further alleged that the Congress had come up with the theory of ‘saffron terrorism’ to shift the blame onto innocent Hindus.
“The Congress was prepared to put the blame for the 26/11 Mumbai attack on holy saffron,” Modi said, adding that innocent Hindus were put in jail and harassed under the guise of this theory.
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of supporting Yasin Bhatkal, a convicted terrorist, and of going to great lengths to prevent the execution of Yakub Memon, another convicted terrorist. “They are those people who give statements in support of Yasin Bhatkal when he gets arrested. They are those people who open court during midnight to stop the death sentence of terrorist Yakub Memon,” Modi stated.
The Prime Minister’s comments have sparked a heated debate, with the Congress and its allies likely to respond strongly. The allegations of ‘saffron terrorism’ and the treatment of Hindus under the previous government are sensitive issues that are likely to dominate the political discourse in the coming days.
