Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a public meeting held here, made a series of bold claims about his government’s achievements and issued a stark warning about the opposition’s intentions.
Modi began by highlighting his government’s commitment to the poor, stating that they have provided 4 crore houses to the underprivileged. However, he warned that the SP-Congress alliance has plans to reverse these gains. “They will take the keys of these 4 crore houses, snatch the houses and give them to their vote bank,” he cautioned.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the Jan Dhan Yojana, a financial inclusion program launched by his government, which has resulted in the opening of bank accounts for more than 50 crore poor people. He expressed concern that the opposition might close these accounts and take away the money.
Modi further emphasized his government’s efforts in rural electrification, claiming that they have brought electricity to every village. Yet, he warned that the opposition could plunge these areas back into darkness by cutting off the electricity connections.
Lastly, he touched upon his government’s initiative to provide water to every home. He cautioned that the SP-Congress alliance might even go to the extent of taking away this basic necessity. “SP-Congress people will even open the water tap of your house and take it away and they are experts in this,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s speech was a mix of highlighting his government’s achievements and cautioning the public about the potential actions of the opposition. It remains to be seen how these statements will influence the political landscape in the days to come.
