Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a compelling address at the ET World Leaders Forum on Saturday, celebrating India’s exceptional economic growth and the electorate’s support for the NDA government’s third consecutive term. Modi’s speech underscored the significant progress India has made in the face of global political shifts.
Modi highlighted that while many countries have experienced changes in leadership this year, India has chosen to maintain political stability and economic continuity by re-electing the NDA government. “In a year marked by global political changes, the people of India have made a historic decision. They have given us a third consecutive term, an achievement not seen in six decades. This demonstrates a strong preference for stability and consistent progress,” Modi stated.
The Prime Minister showcased India’s impressive economic performance over the last decade, noting that while the global economy grew by 35 percent, India’s economy surged by 90 percent. “We have not only fulfilled our promise of sustained growth but exceeded it. India’s economic performance reflects our successful implementation of transformative policies,” Modi said.
Modi also emphasized the positive impact of his government’s reforms on the lives of millions of Indians. “Our ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’ approach has brought tangible improvements to many. Despite political changes in other major countries, the Indian public has endorsed our vision for stability and progress,” he added.
A significant highlight of Modi’s speech was the reduction in poverty over the past decade. He reported that more than 250 million people have risen out of poverty, contributing to the development of a new middle class. “The scale and speed of this achievement are unprecedented. No other democracy has witnessed such a dramatic transformation,” Modi asserted.
The Prime Minister discussed the government’s focus on empowering the disadvantaged, including efforts to address basic needs such as access to banking. “In less than 100 days of our third term, we have implemented major decisions benefiting the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Our commitment to inclusive growth remains steadfast,” Modi stated.
Modi’s address at the ET World Leaders Forum highlighted India’s distinctive success story, reinforcing the country’s position as a stable and growing economy amidst global uncertainties. His remarks underscored the electorate’s endorsement of the NDA government’s policies and the ongoing momentum of India’s economic and social development.
