Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on India’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the collective effort required to combat the virus. He stated, “This is not ‘Virus vs Government’ but the fight of ‘Virus vs Life’ – this was my first philosophy.”
PM Modi highlighted the importance of direct communication with the citizens from the very beginning of the pandemic. He led by example, publicly adhering to all safety protocols and encouraging the public to do the same. His initiatives like ‘taali bajao’, ‘thaali bajao’, ‘diya jalao’, though initially met with skepticism, played a crucial role in building public confidence and transforming the fight against the virus into a mass movement.
Addressing the financial challenges posed by the pandemic, particularly the costs associated with vaccine research, PM Modi underscored the importance of leading by example. He was among the first to receive the vaccine, followed by his 95-year-old mother, thereby bolstering public confidence in the vaccination drive.
Looking ahead, PM Modi expressed his government’s commitment to investing in research, particularly in the area of Cervical cancer. This interaction underscored his dedication to public health and the well-being of India’s citizens, reflecting his vision for a healthier future.
