In a recent public meeting held in Karimnagar, Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a remark that has sparked a nationwide discussion. The Prime Minister drew an interesting comparison between the recently released Telugu film ‘RRR’ and what he referred to as the ‘double R’ (RR) tax.
“From Telangana to Delhi, there is a lot of discussion about ‘double R’ (RR) tax,” said PM Modi during his address. He further added that someone informed him that ‘RR’ has surpassed ‘RRR’ in terms of collection.
The film ‘RRR’, which was released a few days back, has reportedly made a lifetime collection of over Rs 1000 crore. However, PM Modi stated that this amount is merely a few days’ collection of the ‘RR’ tax.
The Prime Minister’s comments have ignited a debate across the nation, with people trying to decipher the meaning behind the ‘RR’ tax and its implications. As the discussion continues, it remains to be seen how this comparison between a blockbuster film’s earnings and a tax collection will unfold in the public discourse.
