On the occasion of Navkar Mahamantra Divas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Jainism as a faith that blends scientific thought with deep compassion, calling it a timeless philosophy rooted in Gujarat that continues to shape India’s intellectual and cultural identity.
He noted that Jainism’s influence can be felt in every street and corner of Gujarat, where its values are deeply woven into daily life. PM Modi emphasized that Jain principles of self-conquest, non-violence, peace, and environmental harmony offer much-needed solutions to contemporary global issues such as war, terrorism, and ecological imbalance.
Calling Jainism a beacon of wisdom and resilience, the Prime Minister highlighted how the religion’s teachings align with India’s spiritual heritage while contributing to global discourses on sustainable living and inner transformation.
He expressed gratitude for the Jain community’s contributions to the nation’s progress and urged citizens to draw inspiration from the Navkar Mantra, a symbol of humility, enlightenment, and service to all life forms.
