Union Home Minister Amit Shah held an important meeting in Delhi with the Chief Ministers, Director Generals of Police (DGPs), and Chief Secretaries of India’s border states to discuss security and coordination along the nation’s borders. The meeting was aimed at reviewing and enhancing border management strategies to address emerging security challenges.
The Chief Ministers of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, and West Bengal, along with the Lieutenant Governors of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir, participated in the crucial discussion.
Amit Shah stressed the need for improved coordination between state and central authorities to tackle cross-border threats, ensure security, and prevent illegal activities. The meeting covered issues like infiltration, terrorism, and border security infrastructure, with a focus on reinforcing the safety of regions near the international borders.
