PM Modi Inaugurates ‘Semicon India 2025’, Highlights India’s Semiconductor Ambitions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Semicon India – 2025’ at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, underscoring India’s ambitions in semiconductor technology and manufacturing. Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the innovation potential of India’s youth and celebrated the country’s 7.8% GDP growth, portraying India as a rising global economic power.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of domestic chip manufacturing and next-generation reforms to position India as a global leader in future semiconductor technologies. “Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World,” he said, assuring investors of long-term support from the government and reinforcing India’s commitment to building a robust and self-reliant semiconductor ecosystem.

He also outlined the country’s vision to attract investment, promote research and development, and foster collaboration between startups, academia, and industry to drive innovation in semiconductor design and production. The Prime Minister said that India’s growing technological capabilities and skilled workforce provide a strong foundation to compete globally in high-tech manufacturing.
