President Droupadi Murmu hosted a special meeting with a group of students from Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The students, part of the National Integration Tour, were accompanied by students from various Eklavya Model Residential Schools of Jammu & Kashmir.
During the meeting, President Murmu interacted with the students, emphasizing the importance of unity, national integration, and the role of education in shaping a brighter future for the country. She commended the students for their commitment to learning and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in their respective fields.
The National Integration Tour, which aims to expose students from diverse regions to the cultural and educational diversity of India, is seen as a significant initiative to foster national unity and understanding. It also provides the students an opportunity to experience life beyond their immediate environments and to engage with peers from different parts of the country.
President Murmu’s gesture reflects the growing emphasis on inclusive education and the government’s commitment to empowering students from remote and underserved regions like Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. The Eklavya Model Residential Schools, which provide quality education to tribal and marginalized students, have also been instrumental in promoting education in the region.
The meeting was an encouraging moment for the students, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to meet the President and share their experiences. The interaction also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to bridge regional gaps in education and foster a sense of national pride and cohesion among the younger generation.
