NDA MPs from Assam Meet PM Narendra Modi to Express Gratitude for Recent Developments

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, along with other NDA MPs from Assam, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today. The purpose of the meeting was to extend their appreciation and gratitude for several significant initiatives and developments benefitting Assam and the broader North Eastern region.

  1. Flood Assistance for Assam: The MPs expressed their gratitude for the flood assistance announced in this year’s budget. This support is expected to aid in mitigating the impact of recurrent floods in the region and support ongoing recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
  2. UNESCO Heritage Site Listing: They also praised the recent UNESCO Heritage Site listing of the historic Charaideo Moidams. This recognition is seen as a significant boost for the preservation of Assam’s cultural heritage and a testament to the region’s rich historical legacy.
  3. North East’s First Semiconductor Plant: The establishment of the North East’s first semiconductor plant was another highlight of the discussion. This project is anticipated to enhance the region’s technological infrastructure and provide substantial economic benefits.
