PM Modi Stresses India’s Commitment to Development and Heritage Conservation at World Heritage Committee

Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated India’s dual commitment to development and heritage conservation during his address at the inaugural event of the 46th Session of the World Heritage Committee. Speaking from New Delhi, PM Modi outlined India’s vision encapsulated in the motto, ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ (Development and Heritage Together), underscoring the nation’s strides in modern development alongside efforts to preserve its cultural legacy.

“India’s vision is clear – ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.’ In the past 10 years, India has achieved unprecedented heights of modern development while steadfastly honoring its rich heritage,” PM Modi stated. He emphasized the significance of balancing progress with the preservation of cultural and historical treasures that define India’s identity.

Highlighting India’s proactive measures in heritage conservation, PM Modi noted, “We have taken unprecedented steps for heritage conservation,” affirming the government’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the country’s diverse cultural heritage.

Addressing an international audience at the World Heritage Committee Meeting, PM Modi reiterated India’s resolve to uphold its cultural legacy and contribute to global heritage conservation efforts. “India stands committed to preserving our heritage for future generations and invites the world to collaborate in this endeavor,” he declared, emphasizing the importance of collective action in safeguarding cultural and natural treasures of universal significance.
